The Cabin at the Pecos

Part of the goal of this trip was to locate the Shaw cabin at the Pecs River and, if possible, to visit it. After a short search we could find it, thanks to Sondra's description. It had a "For Sale" sign in the window, and the general store had the realtor's posting with contact information. He agreed to come up the next day and show us cabins that are for sale in the area, the Shaw cabin among them. Most of the others were on the Green Mountain, only accessible through a mile of dirt road or two.

This picture is composed of several photographs.
It captures the honey colored interior niceley.
But actually, there are no curves in the wood ;-).

These pictures are iPad low resolution, but still.
The beds are probably not original.

On the Green Mountain, east of the Pecos:
A wonderful view from one of the other cabins
down a meadow with some trees on it.
The picture gives only half an impression of how beautiful it was. I'd buy that place in a heartbeat.
