Monopoly in candle light. There was no electricity
on the Norris campground, but we don't really need it

Typical situation, waliking down from a trail to a view point....

A chute of gravel. "Looks as if one could slide down there!"
I said to two young men who were regarding the scene intently.
"That's what we were thinking!" they replied.
But in reality the gravel is only on the surface, below is fairly hard chalk-like ground.

In the center of the picture is a nest of Osprey,
probably better visible in the big version.
(Make sure to click in the center of the picture to enlarge the big image.) The location on a pinnacle in the middle of the canyon protects
the eggs and young ones from predators,
lakes nearby are hunting grounds for the adults.

I just love eating pictures. But the interesing part here is the crow (or whatever -- Hinark?) in the background.

The campground store sold packages with copper salt which made the campfire flames green and blue.
